• Prevent accidents by supervising activities and promptly responding to any emergencies to ensure the safety of the children.
• Provide hands-on support in daily activities such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and diaper changing for infants or young children.
• Assist children with basic hygiene practices, including hand washing, brushing teeth, and maintaining overall cleanliness.
• Develop and implement a variety of activities, including art projects, games, and learning experiences that promote cognitive, social, and physical growth.
• Read to children and engage them in stimulating activities that encourage cognitive and language development.
• Foster positive behaviors by teaching children appropriate social interactions, sharing, and problem-solving skills.
• Address and support any emotional or behavioral challenges children may face, providing a safe space for them to express themselves.
• Monitor and document children's developmental milestones, progress, and behavioral observations to ensure ongoing support and growth.
• Regularly communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress, activities, behavior, and any concerns or incidents.
• Keep detailed records of daily activities, health reports, and incidents, ensuring that all documentation meets childcare licensing and regulatory standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning space. This includes sanitizing toys and equipment, cleaning up after activities, and ensuring all materials are in good condition for use.
• Ensure that all equipment, toys, and learning materials are safe for children and that the environment is free from potential hazards.
• Provide learning opportunities that foster the development of language, math, motor skills, and other key developmental areas.
• Foster a sense of curiosity in children by encouraging them to explore their environment, ask questions, and discover new things.
• Assist with necessary housekeeping tasks, including dishwashing, laundry, and ensuring bedding and linens are clean and ready for use.
• Ensure that learning materials and supplies are well-organized and easily accessible for both children and staff.
• Actively participate in outdoor play, including sports, dancing, and singing, to encourage physical activity and social interaction.
• Prepare quarterly or trimester assessments for each child to comply with local and federal childcare licensing requirements and quality rating improvement systems.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs on daily observations, assessments, incidents, and any significant developments, ensuring they are readily available for review.
• Perform daily duties in alignment with the CNMI CCDF Quality Rating Improvement System (ITERS, ECERS, SACERS, and PAS) to meet all local and federal childcare regulations.
• Submit daily logs and reports to the childcare director, highlighting key observations and activities.
• Perform any other related duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the childcare center and the well-being of the children
